Louisville Halloween Parade and Festival

OCTOBER 5, 2019 AT 6PM

The parade will begin at the intersection of Baxter Avenue and Broadway in the Highlands. It will proceed down Baxter Avenue to Bardstown Road, where it will proceed to it's end at the Mid-City Mall. The parade will begin at 6PM, so it is best to have a spot to view the parade in advance. We recommend being close to the judge's tent so that you can hear the announcers, but we also recommend making reservations at one of our supporting sponsors along the street. Hopcat offers a balcony view of the parade, offering great food and beer. Oshea's has an outdoor patio that offers incredible street level views, fantastic food and drinks.

For 2019, we are proud to welcome a number of other incredible sponsors that help make this event possible. Please take the time to visit all of the supporters of this free community event.

The Louisville Halloween Parade has been a staple celebration for Louisville for over 15 years! When it started, it was sponsored by Caufield's, a world renowned, locally owned costume and novelty store. It quickly grew to be a wildly popular event, attracting tens of thousands of people every year. In 2014, the parade nearly came to an end when Caufield's decided not to continue it's sponsorship of the event.

With 6 weeks to go before the parade was set to hit the streets, LouisvilleHalloween.com stepped in to keep the parade alive. Today the parade is continuing to thrive as Louisville Halloween takes it to new heights. Over 60 groups and businesses participate in the parade every year to bring the BEST FREE Halloween entertainment to the city.

Most people don't realize it, but we actually give awards to the outstanding groups in the parade. A panel of judges select their favorite groups for 10 different categories. The best of each category is awarded a plaque and prizes! We are one of the ONLY parades that has an award category for Best Hearse!

Be part of the parade!

2019 Parade submissions are now closed.
