Louisville Halloween Parade and Festival

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much is it?
A: Totally free! It's the BIGGEST Halloween celebration in Louisville

Q: When is it?
A: This year it is October 5, 2019. The Festival is from 12PM - 9PM, the parade is at 6PM

Q: Where do I park?
A: The Highlands are notorious for terrible parking, but it is free to park! You can park in any of the neighborhoods surrounding the parade path, but we have also indicated areas to park on our location map.

Q: Can I come in costume?
A: Absolutely! We encourage it. We have trick or treating at the festival and a costume contest at the main stage.

Q: What about weather?
A: Sometimes weather does become a factor. While we hope for a beautiful fall day, it is a rain or shine event. In the event of dangerous weather, we may be forced to cancel.

Q: Where is the best spot?
A:We recommend either getting close to the judge's tent at the head of the festival or making reservations at one of restaurants/bars along the street. Many have patios that overlook the parade or window seats. Of course, anywhere on the sidewalk lining the parade route is great!

Q: Is there candy?
A: We do encourage parade units to pass out candy, BUT they must hand it directly to you. They are not permitted to throw it into the street, which creates a hazardous situation. We also have trick or treating at the booths inside the festival!

Q: Why do you do this?
A:Because we LOVE Halloween and we also love bringing an incredible, free event to the community. In addition, our efforts support many businesses and charitable organizations.
